Where the vision of success begins.

Kinseth Hospitality Companies History

Kinseth Hospitality Companies started as a vision from Kenneth Kinseth in the mid to late 50's, when he and his wife Cyrena bought a small hotel property in Decorah, Iowa. Founded in 1963, Kenneth and Cyrena started Kinseth Hospitality when they added a restaurant and rebranded the Deluxe Motel to Cliff House. With a lot of hard work and support from their children Les, Linda, Bruce and Gary, they set out to expand the property into a thriving 108-room hotel and restaurant.

Fourteen years later in 1977 the semi-retired Kenneth and Cyrena sold the Cliff House. Continuing in their footsteps, the Kinseth family sought to expand their portfolio by purchasing a Ramada Inn in Council Bluffs, later renovated to a Best Western. In 1981 they bought another Best Western located in Clear Lake, Iowa. The family continued building the portfolio with the goal of driving successful results for both select and full-service entities.

Over the last 30 years Kinseth Hospitality Companies has demonstrated experience working with both branded and independent hotels in all areas of hospitality. From development and management, to restaurant and food and beverage expansion, the portfolio has grown to over 60 properties. Kinseth Hospitality Companies now rates among the top competitors in hospitality management and development companies in the country.
